Call-Out / Activation Information

On an average day would you be able to respond to a call-out in the middle of the night?
Do your family/friends understand the condidtions of this application with possible call-outs/trainings?
Do you understand that call-outs can occur 24/7/365, including during special events and holidays?
Do you understand that you are EXPECTED to respond to ALL searches ( except for family/work emergencies/committments )?
Do you understand as a member of MOVAL you will be expected to attend training events on a regular basis?

Team / Division Preferneces

Please indicate below the division(s) of MOVAL that you would like to participate in. We will take your suggestions into account after our interview and history/training background review.

   GROUND SEARCH / K-9 FLANKER SUPPORT

This category will fit most members as it is our team's primary focus as Ground Support for searches as well as K-9 Flanker Support for not only OUR K-9 Team, but our Sister Teams as well. NOTICE: This division can be physically demanding, working in rough terrain in thick brush/woods in all kinds of weather and times of day. If you are unsure if you can physically work in the field, we highly recommend you also indicate COMMAND OPERATIONS and SEARCH SUPPORT as we can always use the support in those areas as well!

   K-9 / DOG TEAM / HANDLER

This category is only for members who have prior Search and Rescue experience or already a K-9 handler. We will evaluate ALL members that wish to be a part of this division as we wnat to ensure that you have the minimal training/experience PRIOR to becoming a K-9 Handler with MOVAL. *Approval from Team Director AND K-9 Team Director will be required to be a part of this division.

   COMMAND OPERATIONS

This division is tasked with search planning and organization. Members of this division will need to have prior search or command operations experience. *Approval from Team Director will be required to be a part of this division.

   MOVAL SUPPORT

This division is for members that do not wish to be in the field but have skills that can benefit a search. This will cover things like Command Center Support, Transportation, Radio Communications, etc. This is a great way to be a part of MOVAL without some of the required field training and certifications that may be difficult to obtain due to health or mobility issues. Members of the Support Team will also assist with organization functions such as fundraising, Kidz Kardz Child ID programs, assisting with PR events, administrative support as needed, etc.

FINAL QUESTIONS

   I AGREE TO A BACKGROUND CHECK AND REGISTRATION FEES

Missouri Valley Search and Rescue Team requires a $40 application fee ( this fee will not be collected today ) that will be asked for ONLY AFTER our first meeting/training event with you in order to allow you the chance to meet us and see if we will be a good fit for you. If you wish to continue with the team after this meeting we will collect it then, if you do not feel MOVAL is the right choice for you, no fees will be collected! The fees cover background checks with the Missouri Highway Patrol and any/all other checks that need to be requested to ensure liability and safety for members within the team and those that we serve. Also by submitting this application you verify that all information stated above is correct and factual. After your application is submitted you will be contacted by a member of MOVAL to discuss the next steps in your new membership process.
